On 10 Years After Turning 18. And The People I Love.

Debora Manusama

I you follow me on social media, you'd know that I just turned 28 last week. You know what that means? It's been 10 years since I turned 18 and went to college in Sydney, Australia! I do not feel old at all, I am actually excited to move on to the next phase of life. When I look back at the last decade of my life, I could say that my biggest mistakes in life up to today were ALL made in that last decade. Seriously, from stupid college nights, wrong relationships, hurting my own self and others -- they all took place in this last decade.

But of course there were some really great memories. Like well, living in Sydney, Australia. Working for a radio station that I loved. Living in NYC for 3 months. Getting married to Mr.Man and giving birth to J. Wow - can't believe it's all been a decade!

An old friend of mine even posted this on instagram on my birthday.

Oh the thought of my looking like that is depressing lol! That was 7 years ago! Whaaat!! And the thought of her being so proud of me is just so humbling (I miss you, Wi!).

I seriously don't know how I could get to this point today. If it wasn't for God, I don't think I could function. This is not me trying to sound religious, this is just pure honesty. I know that I know that I know that I am weak, crazy, and weird in a lot of ways. But God saw all of those and said that I was enough. I was enough to be someone's friend, someone's daughter, someone's wife (and therefore daughter-in-law), and even someone's MOTHER. That's crazy.

I sure pray and hope that some of my biggest achievements will be accomplished this decade! I said 'some' because I want to keep on accomplishing great things and fulfilling my purpose till the day I exit this planet. I wish the same for y'all too :)

Here are the series of celebrations that took place within last week!

THE FOOD

I don't know why but I've been into French food lately. So I celebrated my birthday at 2 of D-town's best French restaurants, Rise No. 1 and Toulouse

The Escargot souffles and the chocolate souffles gave me life! SO GOOD.

Crispy duck confit, snapper with quinoa, and beignets with coffee cream dip. Oh yessssss! Plus that Chanel No. 6 drink is delicious too!

THE SURPRISE PARTY

They threw a surprise birthday dinner for me at Ida Claire. Thank  you ladies, y'all made my bday extra special.
