Garlic Knots, $3 Wines, Pizzas - It's Girls Night at Russo's

Life in DFW

My life as a wife and mom in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and all things fun about it!

Garlic Knots, $3 Wines, Pizzas - It's Girls Night at Russo's

Debora Manusama

If you've read my previous post on the importance of having a regular girls night out with some your close friends, you would know how much I love me some girl-time. Not just with any girl, a quality girl-time is best spent with strong, everyday women who are honest, kind, and REAL!

Last week I got a chance to take some of my ladies to this really good pizza place in Richardson, TX called Russo's Coal Fired Italian Kitchen.

I usually go to Asian restaurants when I visit Richardson, so going to a pizza place was refreshingly different. Situated by highway 75, Russo's is pretty easy to find, you just gotta bear the traffic if you're coming from Dallas during rush hour. Good thing we all made it just in time for the happy hour, which goes on every Monday to Friday, from 3 pm to 7 pm.

We started with some chewy, soft, delicious garlic knots that quickly became some of the best ones I've ever had! YOU SERIOUSLY HAVE TO TRY THEM. Along with a glass of house wine of course, that are just $3 on Happy Hour!

Next, time for pizza! We ordered Andrea's Specialty ( = Grilled chicken, prosciutto di Parma, spinach, roma tomatoes, and gorgonzola cheese, with extra virgin olive oil and fresh garlic) and Chicken Ala Vodka ( = Grilled chicken, vodka sauce, fresh basil, proscuitto di Parma, white onions, roasted peppers and all-natural mozzarella cheese).

I'm a big fan of vodka sauce, but I really liked the Andrea's specialty better. I just love the roma tomatoes, spinach, and proscuitto combo!

The beauty of dining out with your girls? We get the fact that some of us need to take photos of our food before we eat ;) So, no shame! Take your photos! Hashtag them ;)

The best part of the whole night was of course exchanging stories and thoughts, laughing, and encouraging one another in between meals. 2 glasses of moscato and3 slices of pizza later, we were ready for dessert!

You cannot go wrong with Tiramisu! Ladyfingers soaked in espresso and Kahlúa, layered with fresh mascarpone cheese -- I mean what's there not to love?

Our waiter, Jesus, did a really good job taking our group photos. We summed up the night, full and happy. The drive home didn't seem too far at all. Shoutout to Chomba, Simi, and Queen who made that night fun and awesome! Let's do this again soon!
