I have been posting tons of articles about kid-friendly restaurants on my Zomato account , but I haven't been able to post any here. When I say kid-friendly, I don't mean restaurants that have playgrounds all the time (you can go to chick-fil-a for that). I am talking about restaurants that are cool for the parents to go to, but have high-chairs, are smoke-free, and most importantly, that serve good quality kids menus. Because honestly, there are too many restaurants that only serve PB&J and Mac n Cheese. So yeah, in attempts to find the perfect eating-out spot for the whole family, I have been enjoying my role as one of the verified bloggers of the Dallas Zomato Community.
I came to their office last week, to meet the staff and other foodies. Wait, what? Did I just call myself a foodie? Haha, I don't have the kind of money that would enable me to go eat out all the time, so I might not have tried every hip restaurant in DFW, but I do have my own angle, taste, and pallete that help composing useful reviews for you guys. And I LOVE food. Plus, I cook. So yeah, maybe I am a foodie. Haha!
Okay but this post isn't about a restaurant that has a delicious kids menu, because they don't really have a "kids meal" category on their menu card. But I would still label this place as a kid-friendly restaurant, because it is! And because it's probably the best brunch spot I've ever been to in DFW so far!
Bou·le·var·dier (bo͝oləvärˈdyā) means a frequenter of the Parisian boulevard (merriam-webster) or a wealthy, fashionable socialite (google). Judging by the name and the 3 dollar signs it has on google review, Boulevardier seemed too intimidating for me to try, even though friends of ours had been talking about it for months. We just moved to Dallas last year, we don't have years and years of savings, and are still living paycheck-to-paycheck here, so we definitely ain't got no time for a $$$ restaurant. But thanks to GILT and the $20 promo they're doing with Boulevardier, we managed to come here last Saturday!
Got there 40 minutes early, not many people were there. It's a good thing though, cuz I got to take as many pictures as I wanted without feeling awkward.
Look at those fresh oysters by the bar!
What I like about this place is that it doesn't serve the usual chicken n waffle, huevos rancheros, or the other predictable brunch menus like regular eggs benedict. They do have eggs benedict but served with caviar. And they do have omelette but served with crispy oysters. And for this, I love Boulevardier. It'a different brunch experience. Elegant, French-inspired, but the ambience is still casual somehow. Now, we weren't going to stare at the menu for long, cuz we came prepared. We knew what we wanted (thanks to the menu they uploaded on their website), so we went ahead and order the Prospector's Breakfast : Omellette, Housemade Bacon (really good), Crispy Oysters (OMG!!), arugula and parmesan cheese - for Mr. Man.
Out of this world.
Buttermilk biscuit, baguette, croissant, house-made jam, local honey, and butter. Ow yeah. Happy baby, happy mama!
We would definitely like come back and try the rest of the brunch menu, and hopefully the cocktails one day!
