I was craving for some 'brunch food' one morning when I thought to myself, "Why can't we have eggs benedict on weekdays?" ;) I mean seriously, why do we have to wait for the weekend to savor those creamy deliciousness?
Lucky for us, there places out there like Black Walnut Cafe that serve Benedicts on daily basis! Yaas!!
Established in Houston, TX back in 2002, Black Walnut Cafe serves everything from eggs benedicts, tacos, pasta, to even kolaches on daily basis. In the DFW metroplex, you can find them in Allen, Colleyville, Flower Mound, Frisco, and the location I visited, Coppell.
Oh yes, on top of it all, they also serve gelato and cheesecakes! (Click the food pics to read their full menu)
I like the fact that we get to order at the counter and pick up our food once our beeper goes off. It makes the whole dining experience much faster.
I got J some apple juiec, warm almond croissant and fresh fruits. And as for me? I went with their BACON CHEESEBURGER BENEDICT. Whaaaaattttt?? Yaasss mama!
Two extra-large poached eggs, two mini burger patties, toasted English muffin, American cheese, diced crispy bacon, potatoes, and cayenne citrus hollandaise. It tastes as good as it sounds, y'all! Pretty self-explanatory, I don't think I have to try to describe them any further here. It's a really good spin on the staple brunch dish. And seriously, think about it, burger patties do taste good with creamy egg yolks running through it!
I would definitely like to try their Lobster Benedict, Salmond Benedict, or Sirloin Steak Benedict next time! And put a bow on my whole dining experience with some gelato for sure!
If you're in the area, definitely come visit, they have plenty of room for groups, a spacious bar area, and a patio as well! Love the woody, classic vibe they got going on in here. Very cozy, classic, but casual.
My basic Wednesday morning instantly felt like a Sunday morning that day. I was like, "Wow, this is too good of a breakfast for a weekday." But then again, why not? Treat yo' self every once in a while! Everyday is a special day ;)
Deep Ellum might not be the typical area for your to go for a Sunday brunch with your family. But this one spot might change that. This is Filament!Read More

The event was free all day on Thursday (9/15) and free from morning till 5 pm on Friday (9/16), and because J was in school and Mr.Man was obviously at work, I got to enjoy the festival on the first day all by myself!

There were so many unique vendors selling everything from jewelries, apparels, to funny wooden signs (one of them says, "God is great. Beer is good. People are crazy" ;) and unique beautiful wine bottle holders.
Pauline, the manager of Main Street Bakery gave me this delicious cronut! It messed up my dress with all of its chocolate syrup drippings. But it was worth it!
What I loved about this festival was the fact that they put time and effort to entertain kids as much as they do with adults. They have interactive games, petting zoo (where a goat jumped onto my chest asking for food and got me screaming like crazy lol), Sea Life touch pool, LegoLand activity center, and GrapeStomp for kids called KidStomp!
I ended both my first and second day at the Champagne Terrace. I would like to participate in the People's Choice Wine Tasting but with a kiddo and no stroller, I had to skip it this year.
I love this magical moment where the bubble machines were blowing a bazillion bubbles in front of the Champagne Terrace and all of the kids went running to catch them.
This is insta-worty for sure! ;)
