No More Waxing, 'Cause I'd Rather Be Binge-Watching

Debora Manusama

Smooth legs -- they don't come naturally. You have to work for them, and even hurt yourself to achieve them. Yup, the struggle is real, ladies.

Ever since I was a teenager, I thought of waxing as a more advanced way to get rid of unwanted hair compared to shaving. I started by waxing my eyebrows when I was 14, and by the time I was 19 years old, I was already used to waxing everything else, regularly.

I think early to mid 2000s was when waxing was such a huge thing. And although it seemed to have reduced the growth of my unwanted hair, it was still very painful, and most importantly, time-consuming.

But I kept on doing it anyway, until I heard about laser hair removal.

I know, you're probably saying, "But those treatments are expensive!" ;) And you're right! They are! But what if you can do it at home?

Is it safe?

Well, as the first and only FDA-cleared hair removal laser available for home use, Tria Laser Hair Removal 4X has silenced all of those questions in my head when I first tried it.

I started using Tria Hair Removal Laser a few months ago. But I didn't go big though! I started with their slim and petite Portable Hair Removal Laser for my underarms first. And I must say, I loved it!

Of course it didn't get rid of all of my hair completely within the first few weeks. It took several treatments, done inch by inch, before you could really see results (usually within up to the first 3 months).

Does it hurt?

Honestly yes. But it's bearable. It feels like a quick snap of rubber band against your skin. The beauty about Tria lasers though, is you could adjust the level of strength it's working on. I always go with the lowest, but considering it's the new year already and I need faster results, I might have to soldier up and move it up a little bit. Especially, since I've got the 4X now with me that I can use to work on my legs!

If you want to reduce the ouch-y sensation you might feel during the treatment, try applying this Smoothstart Calming Gel  before you begin.

Do it every other week, increasing the level gradually, as your tolerance towards the 'snapping' sensation grows. Can you imagine not having to shave or wax anymore?? Like, ever??

Think of all the other fun activities you could be spending your time (and money) on!

I know for me, I'd be binge-watching the Golden Globe-winning series The Crown and Jane The Virgin! ;)
