About

My name is Debora Manusama-Sinaga, a young wife and mom who was born at the end of the 80s era into a family of Dutch-descent Ambonese musicians and preachers. Previously based in Jakarta, Indonesia, I am now residing in Dallas, Texas.

I studied Communication in Sydney (2007) and a little bit of Film History & Screenwriting in New York (2011). Having been doing it since I was 17, blogging is something therapeutic, inspiring, and almost sacred to me.

THE NAME 'MOZDEB'

It's just something that I made up when I was asked to start a blog in one of my classes back in college. I liked the word "mozzarella", so I used it as my user name. There's nothing deep or philosophical about it. Over the years, the name got stuck and I have shorten it up to 'moz' and merged it with my first name Deb. I use it for this blog, my instagram, pinterest, etc. It's easier you know :)

THE CONTENT OF THIS BLOG

I started blogging in 2008, but I changed the name of my blog and the whole concept of this one in 2013. However, I went on a little hiatus and didn't start getting serious about it until summer of 2015.

I do not intend to blog like I know everything about life and that I have this amazing life you wish you had. Because I don't. I am just as clueless about a lot of things as many of you  are, and I just want to learn more and share what I've learned with you all.

I wasn't planning to become a sane human being until my baby was born in 2013. I used to think partying, popularity and rock n roll were the ways of life. I used to even make fun of women who got married at a young age and stay at home with their kids.

But now, I'm one of them! And I tell you, it's not that bad when you do it with the right perspective and a good sense of humor. Still struggling everyday but I know by God's grace I can make a good mother out of me.

Anyway, consider this blog as my little personal magazine where you can find things like : everyday-life-learned lessons and other sources of inspiration in 'Life & Style', stories of inspiring women in 'Monthly Heroines', kid-proof music in 'Strolling Tunes', family-friendly and cool places and events in DFW and many more!
